Donda -> God Breathed -> Praise God definitely improved those songs. I do want to try to make a version of the album that has all the songs on it, and see if it can be improved purely by better song arrangements. Keep My Spirit Alive (thinking about replacing this with Jonah.)ĭonda Disc 2 (like In Rainbows Disc 2, y'know?) There's other songs there I guess I can be picky about, but I'll just post the tracklist I've been listening to at work today, with some recent edits following this post and think it works for the most part.Ģ4 (Might axe it for Jonah, the singing is slightly grating.) There are several tracks I'd put on the album before these. It was a great intro song during the listening parties, but in it's finished state It's a bridge to nowhere. And, as much as it hurts to say, "Donda" should be cut. Yeezus-y) Kanye's weird voice he does in the beginning of Praise God and Baby Keem's feature drags that song down. ^_^ God Breathed's outro is too long (and it all around feels a little too. However if we're carving out a list of the Grade A, cream of the crop songs with no glaring flaws (which I think we can afford to given the amount of material we have to work with.) I wouldn't add those three songs on it. Similarly, at a 2008 press conference to promote his then-new album 808s & Heartbreak, Kanye West described the inspiration for the album as suffering multitude losses at the same timeit’s like losing an arm and a leg and having to find a way to keep walking through it. The album version of "Donda" felt like a buildup that went no where, so putting it a nice intense sort of song into it works well, and I think the gothic chanting passage of "God Breathed" flows in somewhat nicely into the Donda sermon of "Praise God." It gives a bigger sense of purpose to those Donda portions again and gives her a better presence on the album. Click to shrink. This is a pretty good list! And I conceptually I like what you did with Donda -> God Breathed -> Praise God.
